Through various sponsorships and events, we can help bring increase awareness and help everyone develop a greater appreciation and understanding for wide-ranging backgrounds and cultures.
We support the following local events to promote diversity in and around Central Iowa, the home of our corporate headquarters.
- I’ll Make Me a World in Iowa – Celebrates the history, heritage and culture of African Americans.
- Juneteenth – Commemorates African Americans being freed after two centuries of slavery
- Iowa Asian Heritage Festival – Celebrates Asian heritage, history and culture.
- Latino Heritage Festival – Celebrates Hispanic heritage, history and culture.
- Des Moines PRIDE event – Celebrates the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community to help promote an open and respectful environment for everyone.
- Disability Mentoring Day – Promotes career development for students and job seekers with disabilities through job shadowing and hands-on career exploration.
- Multicultural Professional Events – Provides networking opportunities for professionals in the community.
- World Food Festival – The Principal sponsored India, the featured country, during the inaugural World Food Festival in Des Moines which was held in conjunction with the 2005 World Food Prize celebration.
