The growth and success the Principal Financial Group^® (The Principal^®) has experienced over the years is dynamic–and diversity has played a major role. We believe that in developing diversity we strengthen The Princiapl and positively impact communities worldwide.

At The Principal, we’re in a unique position to provide employee benefits and services to growing businesses. We are passionate about strengthening minority and women-owned businesses because doing so contributes to the overall economic growth in the communities we serve. And, because these business owners comprise a large part of our client base, it only makes sense that we do our best to create opportunities to support them. Ultimately, it’s our goal to have a diverse customer, supplier and employee base. Here are just a few examples:

The LATINA Style Business Series launched in 1998 with the assistance of the U.S. Small Business Administration and charter sponsor, the Principal Financial Group. The business series travels to eight cities each year and is the most successful business development program for Latina business owners in the nation. This program has created a unique forum for Latina business owners to learn everything they need to start their own businesses or make their existing one more successful. The Principal Financial Group continues to support the business series each year by providing financial education and employment opportunities for attendees of the business series.

United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
The Principal is a corporate partner of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC). We participate in annual meetings and events to provide financial education to members. We also participate in the USHCC annual legislative conference where we are one of several corporate sponsors to be briefed by the president and his administration on Hispanic issues affecting business owners.

The Principal Women in Business Teleclass Series
Held throughout the year, these FREE teleclasses assist women business owners in growing their business and networking with other women business owners, with the opportunity to learn from a variety of extraordinary speakers.
