Community Involvement
Helping people is an important part of what we do at the Principal Financial Group® (The Principal®). The company and the Principal Financial Group Foundation, Inc. work together to give to those in need through a variety of programs.
How we are helping
One important way our company and our employees contribute is through corporate giving. This includes:
- In-kind donations – the company gathers unused office supplies and equipment to donate to not-for-profit organizations.
- Matching contributions – gifts made by eligible employees to qualified educational institutions and United Way are eligible for the Principal Financial Group Foundation, Inc., matching gift program.
- Volunteerism - The Principal Volunteer Network is committed to promoting volunteerism throughout the company with a particular emphasis on providing information for one-time projects and opportunities with short-term commitment.
Sponsorship details
We sponsor several events and programs as part of our corporate citizenship role, as well as build branding and create opportunities for our sales force to build relationships. Our grants program supports various non-profit organizations in communities in which we have an employee presence.
