The Principal Financial Group® sponsors the national recognition. Now in its seventh year, the program honors growing companies for their commitment to their employees’ financial security.
"With the economy in flux, many employees may not be feeling very financially secure. Companies recognized for continuing to invest in their employees will have a competitive edge in a tight labor market," says Renee Schaaf, vice president, The Principal®.
What winners receive
The recognition showcases winners as role models for other growing businesses—through publicity and a nationally distributed Best Practices Guide. Winners receive a donation to the charity of their choice. Winners often include the recognition in their marketing materials.
"We were tremendously honored to be named one of The Principal 10 Best in 2007. It left a very positive impression on our existing employees. We are using the recognition when we recruit new employees," said Julie Burns, vice president of human resources at PMSLIC.
