A dozen years, a dozen times: the Principal Financial Group recognized a top 50 company by LATINA Style
August 27, 2009 (Des Moines, IA) — The Principal Financial Group® has been named one of the "50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work for in the U.S." by LATINA Style magazine for the 12th consecutive year.
To create the prestigious list of employers, LATINA Style surveyed more than 800 companies. The list appears in the August issue of the publication and is available at www.latinastyle.com. A report from the survey is distributed to Hispanic professional and civic organizations, national women's organizations, more than 2,000 colleges and universities, and members of Congress and the White House.
"We are honored to once again be recognized by LATINA Style Magazine," said Ralph Eucher, senior vice president of Human Resources at the Principal Financial Group. "The Principal's competitive edge is due, in part, to our employees' varied backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. We believe that in nurturing a diverse culture, The Principal is in a better position to serve our employees, clients and shareholders around the world."
About the LATINA Style 50
Companies are evaluated based on issues that LATINA Style readers identified as most important to them in the workplace. Among the principal areas of evaluation are: number of Latina executives, mentoring programs, Latina board members, educational opportunities, alternative work policies, dependent/child care support, employee benefits, women's issues, job retraining, affinity groups and Hispanic relations. Evaluations for the 2009 annual report were based on 2008 data.
The LATINA Style 50 companies will be honored on Feb. 4, 2010, during LATINA Style's awards ceremony and Diversity Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C. The companies will also be recognized at an exclusive awards reception at the White House.
