Principal Enterprise Capital Announces Two New Hires

David Gottschall and Emily Slovitt join growing real estate private equity firm

December 11, 2013 (Des Moines, Iowa) — Principal Enterprise Capital, LLC, a real estate private equity investment manager and subsidiary of the Principal Financial Group® (NYSE:PFG), announces David Gottschall and Emily Slovitt have joined the firm as managing director and investment manager, respectively.

As managing director, Gottschall assists in managing the firm's overall strategy, serves on operating partner boards and is responsible for both internal and external growth of the business.

Gottschall has nearly 15 years of investment experience and was most recently a portfolio manager for Allstate Investments, directing investment selection and portfolio management efforts in equity joint ventures and commercial mortgages.

He has a master's degree in finance from the University of Denver and a bachelor's degree in economics from Oberlin College. Gottschall holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

In her role as investment manager, Slovitt conducts research to provide investment and strategy recommendations to Principal Enterprise Capital leadership. She also collaborates on the analysis of existing portfolio companies.

Slovitt joins Principal Enterprise Capital with more than seven years of commercial real estate experience, including commercial loan origination, joint venture formation, funds management and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) portfolio management. Previously, she was an investment associate for Prudential Mortgage Capital Company.

Slovitt earned a master's degree in finance, management strategy and social enterprise from Northwestern University and a bachelor's degree in finance and real estate from the University of Texas in Austin. She is a member of global women's network 85 Broads and the Kellogg Real Estate Alumni Club.
