As e-commerce increases, criminals are using more elaborate methods to perform account fraud and identity theft. While internet security protocols have yet to be mandated for all financial service companies, we feel strongly a proactive approach will better safeguard sensitive customer data.
On July 18 we enhanced our online security with the introduction of a the following security features:
A login image and phrase is a secret between you and our website. Each time you log in to your account and see your login image and phrase, it helps ensure you are at our website and not a fake/phishing site. Starting July 18, you will select your login image and phrase. This will only take a few minutes, but will provide an important layer of added protection for you and your data.
The first time you log in after we implement the login image and phrase, here's what you'll need to do:
Once you log in, look for the "Edit Profile" link on the left in the "My Profile" section.
Security questions and answers, as well as email address, help us verify your identity when using some of our online features, such as “forgot username” or “forgot password”. Your matching answers help confirm it’s you.
Select three different questions and provide an answer for each. These three questions will only be used online. If you ever forget your username or password and decide to retrieve them through our website, you'll need to answer the question correctly before we'll provide you with your username or password.
Select one additional, different question and provide an answer. We will ask you to answer this question (to verify your identity) when you call customer service. When choosing this question and answer, please remember you will say it out loud to a customer service associate, so make sure it's appropriate and be sensitive to the fact that someone will hear it.
Passwords must be between 8-32 characters and include at least one letter and one number. In an effort to enhance our security, we are asking all financial professionals to update their passwords to ensure they meet the stronger password requirements.
We appreciate your cooperation in taking a few minutes to make these security updates online, which helps us safeguard your (and your client's) information and privacy.
