Principal Bank Deposit Method Options

Principal Bank offers six convenient ways for you to make deposits into your account, including:

  • Electronic Direct Deposit - Complete the necessary forms from your employer to have your paycheck automatically deposited into your Principal Bank account(s) and avoid the hassle of trips to the bank to make your deposits. Plus, funds from your direct deposited paycheck are usually available sooner. Principal Bank offers a generic form (PDF: 75 KB), if your employer does not have one they require.
  • ATM deposits and transfers (where available) - Use your Principal Bank VISA debit card at specified SHAZAM or STAR ATMs to make deposits into your account at your convenience! For more information on ATM deposit sites, click on either the SHAZAM ATM Locator link (results should have the deposit icon) or the STAR ATM Locator link.
  • Money Movement - Transfer money between your Principal Bank account and accounts at other financial institutions. In addition, you can send money to accounts of which you are not the owner (helpful for college students and children's accounts or anyone you want to send money to). Money Movement is available online in your Principal Bank Checking account in the "Transfers" tab.

  • Mail - Use free Principal Bank postage paid envelopes to send in your checks or money orders (for security purposes, no cash, please) for deposit into your account. Order yours by completing the online Envelope Request Form or by calling 1.800.672.3343.
  • Telephone transfers - Use Principal's automated phone system to transfer funds from your savings account to your checking account when you need to write checks.
  • Wire transfers - Transfer funds by wire into your Principal Bank account with no Principal Bank fees using the Bank's Transit/ABA number -- 073922623
