Account Information Access by Phone

Principal Bank makes accessing your account easy. Internet access provides account information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, there are occasionally times when the Internet simply isn't available. Not a problem. Principal Bank also offers account access by phone. Call us at 1.800.672.3343 anytime day or night, 24/7 and:

  • Receive your account balance
  • Hear recent transactions
  • Review cleared checks
  • Report a lost or stolen debit or credit card

The first time you call us, a personal banker will help you set up a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and Security Phrase for your account protection. Your PIN and Security Phrase will be required each time you call in to access your account information by phone.

Your PIN and Security Phrase assist Principal Bank in verifying your identity when you contact us. Maintaining the confidentiality of your PIN and Security Phrase is essential to your security and privacy.

Your Security Phrase question and answer should be known only by you and should not be something that is easily identified by others. Choosing a personal, obscure security phrase question and answer can help ensure the protection of your information. A few examples that may be appropriate: "What was the name of my second grade teacher?" or "How old was I when I first flew on an airplane?" or "What street did my maternal grandparents live on?"
