How to Open An Account
You may either open an account online or call one of our personal bankers 7 AM to 9 PM (CST), seven days a week at 1.800.672.3343.
Opening a Principal Bank account online is easy. On the first page of your application, you may select up to 5 different products at once. We want to make it easy for you to open a checking account, savings account and credit card, for example, without having to reenter duplicate information. |

Once you select your products, the application will intelligently take you through and gather only the information required for the products you requested.
All deposit products require a signature card. You will be given the option of printing it yourself or having us send one to you. Once we receive the signature card and your initial deposit, your account will be opened.
If you are applying for a loan product, we will contact you regarding the next steps. Detailed information of the next steps will also be provided to you at the end of the online application.
