Get experience as a financial representative
Imagine a teen-ager still able to go to college after the death of a parent. A business that stays open while its owner recovers from serious injury. A couple enjoying their retirement after years of hard work.
That’s all likely possible because these people had a plan for their financial future. It’s also likely that a trusted financial professional helped them identify their goals and put that plan into action.
The personal, professional and financial rewards of a career in sales in this industry are limitless.
Building a foundation for your success
At the Principal Financial Group, some of our most successful financial representatives came to us without financial services sales experience. But what they did have:
- An entrepreneurial spirit
- Community connections and natural networking ability
- A desire to help people set and achieve their financial goals
By becoming a financial professional with The Principal, you’ll help small-to medium-sized business owners plan for their futures. You’ll also help their employees ensure their families have a financially secure future. You’re able to do this in a work environment that lets you be independent yet provides the support you need.
It starts with a four-month development phase – a structured program to provide the knowledge and skills to launch your career. We’ll be there with you every step of the way. After successful completion, you’ll rely on what we call “The Principal Powerful Resources”:
- Local wholesale and management support
- Leading-edge technology
- Home office expertise
- Practice management, marketing support and business consulting
- On-going professional development
Never-ending opportunities
Throughout your career you will find multiple opportunities to grow professionally. You will be in charge of your career path and can determine your area of specialty. After the four month development phase, you may decide to continue as a financial services generalist, assisting clients with a wide range of insurance and investment needs. You may also want to explore a specialty, such as fee-based financial planning, insurance for business needs or estate planning needs. Your path could even lead to a sales management position. At The Principal, we are committed to growing our future by developing our financial professionals.
