There are many different jobs in the investment environment. Two of the most common positions are: Analyst and Portfolio Manager.
As an Analyst, you may be expected to perform research and analysis of certain investments. This may vary depending on the line of business that you are in, whether Commercial Real Estate, Fixed Income or Equities. Common skills asked for include strong Excel and experience in various types of modeling/analysis.
Portfolio Managers are more focused on acutely managing the investments. You can do this by evaluation and monitoring the performance of the investment and making adjustments as needed. You will also create and develop portfolio strategies for internal and external customers. The job progression for a Portfolio Manager, whether Fixed Income or Equities, begins at the Portfolio Management Assistant position.
Regardless of your experience, our investment areas foster an environment for exceptional long-term career growth and promotional opportunities. We are looking for individuals who have a background in economics, finance or mathematics. Higher level positions will require an MBA and certifications, such as the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst). Individuals should also demonstrate excellent communication, analytical and customer service skills.
