Bethany's Story
I like the stress relief and relaxation that I get from the company’s High Street Retreat an employee meeting space and game room in Corporate Center. Spending just 10 to 15 minutes there helps me unwind and refocus on the rest of the day’s work. Plus, it helps me catch up with friends and co-workers, and use up some of my competitive energy.
As an IT systems analyst on the Intel Server team, I help manage the majority of servers within The Principal. In my role, I specifically focus on the area of virtualization using the product VMware. Because the servers we’re converting to do not require physical hardware, the company saves money and server space.
In college, I had the opportunity to intern in the department where I’m now employed. Although it was difficult at times to juggle all of the responsibilities, the payoff was worth it. I was able to stay in touch with my co-workers and the projects our team was involved in while finishing my degree.
