Working at The Principal gives me a great sense of personal fulfillment. As an employer, The Principal does so much to support me as an employee. The company appreciates my skills. I’m able to use my talents and love of education to help employees excel in their current role and prepare for their next career move.
As an instructional designer, I design and develop training materials that keep our client-facing employees educated on changing regulations, policies and products. In addition, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a project to overhaul our defined benefit plan curriculum so it’s more sequential and provides higher quality training. The redesign of the curriculum will help employees do their jobs better.
I like the countless ways to get involved around the company. I take advantage of opportunities to give back to my community through the Principal Volunteer Network and have been able to take a more active role in the company’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Employee Resource Group.Volunteering at a local youth shelter helped remind me that we all suffer adversity at different times in our lives. But, we can all help each other make those experiences less difficult and painful. The Principal Volunteer Network and Employee Resource Groups are just two examples of programs the company sponsors to help employees make a difference in their communities.
