D.J.'s Story
I’ve completed my Bachelor’s degree. I’ve moved from the insurance business to banking. I’ve gone from an individual contributor to a leadership role. I’ve volunteered. I’ve participated in a mentoring program. And, I’m glad to say I’ve done it all at The Principal.
I enjoy the name recognition in the community when people ask where I work -- I’m proud to tell others that I work at The Principal and can credit all of these accomplishments to my time here.
During my career at The Principal, I’ve held two positions. Currently, I’m an IT system associate – lead. In this role, I’m responsible for overseeing the IT infrastructure and security/technology risk teams along with day-to-day support of the internally hosted business systems for Principal Bank. We also manage application support through direct interaction with our vendors. Prior to this position, I was an IT system associate handling the ongoing support of server and workstation activities.
I believe my willingness to go “above and beyond” has contributed to the successes I’ve experienced so far. From resolving tough issues with a vendor to putting forth the extra effort to ensure a seamless system update or project transfer, I’m committed to seeing a task through to completion.
