The greatest responsibility I have is seeking opportunities to help leverage the talents of individuals on my team. My goal is to help them gain the experience they need to do their job well and prepare them for their next career step. My leaders have done that for me. And now I want to do the same for my employees.
With my leader’s encouragement and coaching, I’ve taken advantage of various challenges and job opportunities. As I stretch myself and grow my skills, I know I’m increasing my value to the organization – and, that’s an accomplishment to me.
When I began my career at The Principal, I was a personal banker. Quickly, I was promoted to a premier banker and later a senior premier banker. I’m pleased to say that I’m a leader in the organization. With company resources, training programs and mentors, I’m continuing to improve my leadership skills.
Beyond my leadership responsibilities, I am a business lead for our disaster recovery efforts, our business process improvement projects and our internal quality assurance program, just to name a few. Plus, I act as manager of bank services at the Principal Employee Financial Center – an on-site financial center for employees – twice a week. My days are busy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. The variety is one thing I love about The Principal.
