Kurt's Story
As a family man with four daughters, being part of their lives and activities is very important to me. With the company’s flexibility, I’m able to be there for them and contribute successfully at work too. After working 10 years at other companies, I’m confident in saying flexibility here is not a buzzword – it’s reality.
In addition to being flexible, The Principal is supportive of my interest in volunteerism. I donate platelets to our local blood center; participate in our United Way Day of Caring projects and I coordinated our Adopt-A-Family efforts with the Iowa Department of Human Services to help less fortunate families at Christmas.
I enjoy the various extracurricular activities the company provides. But, my primary focus includes acting as a senior project manager. In this role, I lead teams to solve complex business issues with process and technology solutions by building project schedules, assessing risks, tracking progress and improving operating efficiencies.
Offering financial products and services to help individuals and families throughout various life stages gives me a sense of purpose. And, I know I can impact our customers’ experiences with my assigned projects. Using my network of contacts and the company’s project management rigor, my project teams recently delivered three projects 45 days ahead of scheduled deadlines, saving nearly $100,000.
