Tyler's Story
I compare the atmosphere of The Principal to the atmosphere of a local diner. It has a “hometown” sense that helps everyone feel welcome. Employees sit down, chat and get to know each other. They work hard in a professional environment and talk business; they talk about personal things and everything in between.
In 2006, I began my career at The Principal through an internship where I helped our associates with letters, mailings, document updates and the renovation of our client filing system. Today, I administer Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOP), which means I analyze client’s employee data, the breakdown of financial statements and the distribution of funds within each plan. I’m proud to say that I’ve even passed my Series 7 exam in order to become a Princor Registered Representative.
Outside of work, I’ve been able to act as an ambassador for United Way in our local community by contacting other area businesses to rally support. I’ve witnessed the company’s community involvement first-hand and it’s great to work for a company that encourages employees to find something they’re passionate about and personally get involved.
