The Principal Wellness Scholarship
The Principal Financial Group® (The Principal®) is proud to offer two $2,500 scholarships to outstanding Indiana college students pursuing a career in the health/wellness industry. Scholarship recipients have the opportunity to gain industry experience through a paid internship at The Principal Indianapolis office.
Am I qualified?
Applicants must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Be attending a four-year Indiana college or university
- Have a current status of Sophomore and above
- Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0
- Be a health/wellness-related major which may include Health Science, Health Promotions, Exercise Science, Nutrition and Dietetics
How could I become a scholarship recipient?
Applicants are selected by the following:
- Minimum grade point average of 3.0
- Related major
- Strong interest or career goals in the wellness/health industry
- Written essay
- Personal interview for finalists
What do I get as a Principal Wellness Scholarship recipient?
- $2,500 award amount for the academic year
- Renewable if following terms are met:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Maintain good standing with both the college and The Principal
- Maintain wellness-related major and interest
- Full-time student status
Want an internship?
Scholarship recipients have the opportunity to complete a paid summer internship which enables the student to explore and develop skills within the wellness/health industry. The student has the chance to learn about the company and the many career opportunities available for full-time employment upon graduation.
What are the application deadlines?
Application deadline is Feb. 1 for the following academic year.
- A completed electronic application is required for eligibility and must be submitted by Feb. 1.
- After all applications are reviewed, finalists will be chosen and contacted for an interview.
- Award announcements will be made no later then March 1.
