Grants are available for organizations located in communities where we have a significant employee presence, which include the following communities:

Fill out our grant application form.
Prepare a cover letter no more than two pages long, which should include the following information:

Please submit your request by emailing a scanned copy of the full proposal and supporting documentation to CommunityRelations@principal.com (file size limited to 50 MB). Or mail your application materials to the office location that corresponds most closely with your organization’s location by the required deadline.

Each grant application is evaluated to determine eligibility, compliance with our requirements and available funds.
Notice of award decisions will be made by letter to organizations within 10 weeks after the application deadline.

Applications must be received — not postmarked — by the dates listed below.

All other locations and areas of focus: June 1
Only one grant application will be accepted per organization per calendar year for general operating support or specific program support.
Requests for capital support require a separate application.
Apply for funding in the grant category that most closely aligns with your organization’s core mission, not the focus of your specific program or project.
Organizations that have previously received funding must submit the grant evaluation form (PDF: 30 KB) within one year of the grant award, or at the time of the next grant application (whichever comes first) to be considered for funding.
