How To Enter: The Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest 401-K Challenge ("Sweepstakes") begins at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET") on March 1, 2008 and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on September 1, 2008, or when a participating Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest team records 401 strikeouts at home, as determined by Sponsor, whichever is sooner ("Sweepstakes Period"). To enter the Sweepstakes during the Sweepstakes Period, complete the official online entry form available at www.principal.com/funfest (the "Website") and vote for whichever participating Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest team you think will be the first to record 401 strikeouts at home during the 2008 season. Participating teams are those listed on the Website. All entries must be manually keystroked by entrant. Automated entries, including entries/votes submitted by both, script, macro or a sweepstakes service are void. All entries/votes become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged. For purposes of these Official Rules, "receipt" of an online entry occurs when Sponsor's servers record the entry information. Any automated computer receipt (such as one confirming delivery of email) does not constitute proof of actual receipt by Sponsor of an online entry.
The person submitting an online entry must be the authorized account holder of the email address provided with the entry. "Authorized account holder" is the natural person who is assigned to an email address by the Internet Access Provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an online entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the person in whose name the email account is registered. The potential winner may be required to provide Sponsor with proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with that entry.
Eligibility: The Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the continental United States (including D.C.), age 18 and over as of March 1, 2008. Participation by employees of Entertainment & Sports International, Inc., Principal Financial Group ("Sponsor"), Principal Life Insurance Company, participating Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest teams, Best Buy, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, retailers, and advertising and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses) and those living in the same household of each, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter the Sweepstakes or win a prize. Subject to all laws. Void outside the continental United States and where prohibited by law. Sponsor reserves the right to verify eligibility qualifications of the winners to its reasonable satisfaction.
Drawing: One (1) potential Grand Prize winner will be chosen in a random drawing from among all eligible entrants who voted for the participating Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest team which is the first to record 401 strikeouts at home during the 2008 Season, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. If no team records 401 strikeouts at home, as determined by Sponsor, prior to the end of the Sweepstakes Period, the potential Grand Prize winner will be chosen at random from among all eligible entrants who voted for the participating Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest team which recorded the highest number of strikeouts at home during the Sweepstakes Period, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. In the event more than one participating Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest team records 401 strikeouts at home at the same time, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, the potential Grand Prize winner will be chosen at random from among all eligible entrants who voted for such participating Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest teams. Potential Local First Prize winners (one (1) per participating team) will randomly selected from among all eligible entries/votes received for each respective team. The Grand Prize winner will not be eligible for entry into the related First Prize drawing. Drawings will be conducted on or about one week following the determination of the winning participating team, but no later than October 31, 2008, by the sponsor. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries/votes received for the applicable drawing. Non-winning entries/votes from one drawing will not roll-over into subsequent drawings.
Prizes: One (1) Grand Prize: five thousand dollars ($5,000). Up to Forty Two (42) Local First Prizes (one (1) per participating team): One (1) $100 Best Buy Gift Card and a Six (6) month membership to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum (ARV: $130 each). Maximum Total ARV of all prizes: $10,460. Prizes are only as detailed above. No cash or other substitutions, transfers or assignments of any prize are allowed, except by Sponsor, which reserves the right to substitute a prize of comparable or greater value, at its sole discretion. All applicable taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners. All other expenses relating to the acceptance and/or use of any prize not specifically mentioned herein are the sole responsibility of the winner. Prizes are awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor. Limit one (1) prize per person or household. The prizes will be awarded and/or delivered only to an address within the United States.
Winner Notification: The potential winners will be notified by e-mail address, telephone or mailing address provided in the entry information. If a potential winner cannot be reached after a reasonable effort has been made within fifteen (15) business days of Sponsor's first attempt, or if an entrant is found to be ineligible, prize may be forfeited and, at Sponsor's discretion, an alternate winner may be randomly selected from the same prize pool as the preceding potential winner. Prize winners may be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release and, where legal, a Publicity Release and return it within ten (10) days of issuance. If such documents are not executed and returned within the specified time period, any mail (postal or e-mail) is returned as undeliverable, or in the event of noncompliance with these Official Rules, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner may be randomly selected from the same prize pool as the preceding potential winner, at Sponsor's sole discretion. Unless otherwise noted, allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery of prize following completion of notification process.
General: By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and decisions of Sponsor and judges, which are final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes, including (without limitation) all decisions regarding eligibility, compliance with these rules, the selection of finalists and winners, the award of prizes and the administration of all drawings. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual found to be tampering with the entry process, the Website, or the operation of the Sweepstakes; or to be acting in any manner deemed by Sponsor to be in violation of the Official Rules; or to be acting in any manner deemed by Sponsor to be unsportsmanlike or disruptive, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.
Limitations of Liability: Released Parties (as defined below) assume no responsibility or liability for (a) any incorrect or inaccurate entry information; or illegible, incomplete, garbled, delayed, undelivered, misdirected, misplaced, late, lost or stolen entries/votes; (b) any unauthorized access to, or theft, destruction or alteration of entries/votes at any point in the operation of this Sweepstakes; (c) any malfunction, failure, error, omission, deletion, defect, delay in operation or communications failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, networks, lines, satellites, servers, computers or providers utilized in any aspect of the operation of the Sweepstakes; (d) inaccessibility or unavailability of Entry Forms or Official Rules or any combination thereof; (e) any technical, printing, typographical, human or other error relating to or in connection with this Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, errors which may occur in connection with the administration of the Sweepstakes, the processing of the entries/votes, the tabulation of strikeouts, the announcement of the prizes or in any materials related to this Sweepstakes; (f) any injury or damage to participants which may be related to or resulting from any attempt to participate in the Sweepstakes; (g) any injury or damage to any computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in this sweepstakes, for theft, destruction, unauthorized access to or alteration of entries, or problems downloading entries from the Website; or (h) any cancelled or postponed games for whatever reason. If, for any reason, the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, then Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes in whole or in part, and if terminated, conduct a random drawing from among all eligible entries/votes received for the applicable drawing as of the date of termination. Notice of any cancellation, termination or modification will be posted on the Website. By entering the sweepstakes, participants agree to Sponsor's use of their personal information as described in its Privacy Policy, located at the Website.
Releases: All entrants, as a condition of entry into the Sweepstakes, agree to release the Sponsor, Principal Life Insurance Company, Entertainment & Sports International, Inc., participating Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest teams, Best Buy, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, retailers, and advertising, promotional and judging agencies, and each of their respective employees, officers, directors and agents (collectively, the "Released Parties") from and against any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses which may be sustained in connection with submitting an entry/vote or otherwise participating in any aspect of the Sweepstakes, the receipt, ownership, nonuse, misuse or use of any prize awarded (including any injury or damage resulting from attendance at any baseball game). Except where prohibited by law, each winner grants to Sponsor and its designees the right to print, publish, broadcast and use worldwide in any and all media, now or hereinafter known, throughout the world in perpetuity, the his/her name, address (city and state), voice, statement, picture or other likeness, without additional compensation, notification, review, credit, or permission, for public relations, advertising and promotional purposes as may be determined by Sponsor.
