Our 2005 medical generation offers a variety of benefit designs that achieve a range of price points for all types of groups.
Our continuum of coverage includes three families of Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) solutions:
- Classic PPO Benefit Designs (1200 Series) - our “standard” offering
- Classic Value PPO Benefit Designs (1400 Series) – a more economical family
- Classic Plus PPO Benefit Designs (1700 Series) – offering richer benefits
Advantages of PPO solutions
Balancing the desire for quality healthcare with the need for affordability is one of the many reasons PPO designs are so popular today. Coverage is not limited to a set group of providers, and participants are not required to secure referrals from their primary care physicians before visiting a specialist.
PPO solutions from Principal Life also offer a number of other advantages:
- Insureds have the freedom to choose either PPO or non-PPO providers
- Providers are reimbursed on a fee-for-service basis, meaning they are not rewarded for under-treating patients
- Fees are negotiated on larger-dollar claims when discounts through contracted providers are not available
- Our benefit designs include rehabilitation benefits
- Benefit designs are available with or without physician visit copays depending on your needs and budget
- Benefit designs include prescription drug copays and a prescription drug mail order service
