Staying healthy - or even improving your health can have a big impact on your overall quality of life and your expenses. At Principal Life, we believe it is not acceptable to wait until you or your dependents get sick before we start helping you. That’s why our Principal HealthyConnections program offers services to help you take control and make the best choices for you at any stage of your health - even when you’re perfectly healthy.

When you login to the Principal Health and Wellness Center you’ll find multiple online resources available, including:

  • Principal Health NewsSM — An online library of news and information
  • Health Assessments — Identify health risks and access risk-related information online. Your employer may also offer you a Principal Wellness Program that includes health screenings.
  • Find a Provider — You can instantly find a provider based on your personal specifications with this search feature.
  • Prescription Drug Information — In-depth coverage and pricing data, medication and interaction info, pharmacy locations and more!
  • Compare Hospitals — Using a range of criteria, including volume, success rates for procedures, quality ratings, cost, location and more.
  • Online Healthcare Advisor — This tool walks you through the process of managing your specific conditions or procedures.
  • Your Personal Information — Enjoy password-protected access to updated information about benefits - including claim status, account balances, explanation of benefits and more.

General resources & tools are also available, including:

  • Community Connections — Services and discounts that encourage healthy living, including YMCA, Weight Watchers, and the American Cancer Society.
  • Member Advocate — Toll-free access to professionals who answer questions about benefits, coverage, claims, how to find providers.
  • Prenatal Care Program — Maternity nurses work one-on-one with mothers-to-be to help identify risks and improve newborn outcomes.
  • Hospital Care Coordination — Help in coordinating and receiving appropriate, timely, quality services during hospital stays and follow-up care.
  • Case Management — During serious illness, skilled professionals help you better understand and use the health care system.
  • Transplant Coordination — Professional transplant coordinators provide information and assistance throughout a transplant process.
  • Disease Management — Specialized assistance for monitoring and managing certain chronic conditions, such as diabetes and asthma.
