Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0 Tips
Users of Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0 may encounter problems when trying to log in to the secure part of our site. Following are suggestions on changing your settings to allow Principal.com to work with Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0:
- Cookies:
Even if you have cookies enabled, it's possible that Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0 could still be ignoring cookies. This is particularly true if you have your Privacy setting at "High" or "Block all Cookies," then the browser will not use Principal.com's cookies. If this is the problem, there are two ways to fix it:- The first way is to reset Privacy settings to their defaults. Within Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0, select "Internet Options" from the "Tools." In the Internet Options pane, select the "Privacy" tab. Then click the "Default" button to reset Privacy options to their default, and OK to close the window.
- If you want to retain your customized Privacy settings, you can add Principal.com as an exception. At the bottom of the Privacy tab is an area where you can add web site names as exceptions. Click "Edit" to open up the "Per Site" dialog box. Here, one just needs to add the site name and click the "Allow" button.
- JavaScript & Meta Refresh:
The site also requires Javascript and Meta Refresh, and Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0 settings can also interfere with them. Meta Refresh redirects the browser from the intermediate login page to consolidated view or other secured pages. Again, there are two solutions --- If you have your Security Settings at "High", JavaScript is disabled and the Meta Refresh function is turned off. Within "Internet Options", selecting "Medium" on the Security tab will reset the browser to its defaults, enabling both JavaScript and Meta Refresh.
- You can also click on "Custom Level" within the Security tab and enable these items. "Allow META REFRESH" should be enabled, and "Active Scripting" should also be enabled.
Pop-ups or Restricted Banner Ads
Software installed to prohibit pop-ups or restricted banner ads might interfere with this site and cause you to experience general errors or frozen pages. We recommend that this software be disabled or un-installed before using this site.
