Birthday Bag Blitz
October 2009—Many less fortunate children don't believe they have a birthday because it has never been celebrated. Today in the USA one in every six children is now living in poverty, and there is a great need for us to do more. Cheerful Givers provides toy-filled birthday gift bags to food shelves and shelters (through Second Harvest Heartland) so that parents living in poverty can give their child a birthday gift.
The Minnesota Business Center partnered with Cheerful Givers by hosting a Birthday Bag Blitz. This effort will touch 1,500 children on their birthdays. Learn more: http://www.cheerfulgivers.org/
Thank God For Kids Gala
April 25, 2009—Every year, too many children in our area are diagnosed with cancer, sickle cell anemia, hemophilia or other blood disorders. This year 8,300 children in the United States will develop cancer. On April 25, 2009 the 18th Annual Thank God for Kids Gala benefiting the Cancer Kids Fund of Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota will take place at the Historic Depot in Minneapolis. The Minnesota Business Center is partnering with Cancer Kids Fund to help them achieve its mission of providing support, care and comfort to the children and their families who have been diagnosed with cancer, sickle cell anemia and other blood disorders.
