(HIPAA) Protecting Our Insured Customers Plan Participants' Personal Medical Information
We have a commitment to protecting and safeguarding the individually identifiable personal health information of our customers plan participants. Our practices are consistent with state and federal law relative to protection of health information. The following notice is required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Standards for Privacy of Individually Identifiable Health Information (the HIPAA Privacy Rule) and applies to fully insured health plans with Principal Life Insurance Company with group medical (including prescription drugs), group dental and/or group vision care expense.
This Notice of Privacy Practices outlines our practices with respect to uses and disclosure of personal health information without an authorization and includes a description of individual's rights under the HIPAA Privacy Rule and how to exercise those rights.
