Member Services

Educating and communicating with members is critical. We drive that process by offering customized services that are unique to the needs and objectives of your members, including:

  • Customized education programs. We'll work with you to create a custom communication program that supports the unique needs of Taft-Hartley plan members.

  • Member statements. Members will receive our award-winning, easy-to-read statements, which can be customized with union logos, messages from Trustees, and educational articles.

  • Internet access. Members have 24-hour access to their account information through The Principal Retirement Service Center®. They can easily view and make changes to their account or access a variety of financial planning tools & calculators.

  • Dedicated Taft-Hartley telephone support. With TeleTouch®, our toll-free, interactive voice response system, your plan members have another fast and easy way to access their account information. They can also talk to a retirement specialist if they need assistance or have questions about their account.
  • Plan Ahead. Get Ahead.® magazine. This informative quarterly magazine is sent to members' homes quarterly. It features articles on financial and retirement issues that are meant to inspire members to take full advantage of their retirement plan.
  • Flexible retirement payments. When members retire, they can keep their account active and still receive periodic payments - choosing the payment option that works best for them.
  • Financial planning assistance. Members often need help making investment decisions. That's why you can provide members with additional services such as:
    • Lifecycle investment options
    • Principal Managed Account ProgramSM

    In addition to these investment allocation tools, financial planning seminars and one-on-one consultation are available for members.

All of these services help make it easier for members to learn about and save for retirement.
