The Principal 10 Best Companies for Employee Financial Security Official Rules
- No purchase necessary. Must be legal resident of the U.S., 18 years of age or older. Void where prohibited.
- To Enter: Complete and submit the official entry form. Limit one entry per company.
- Entries have closed for the 2008 progam.
- Winning: Winners will be selected by a panel of financial services and human resources experts. Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash, transferred, assigned or substituted, except that sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize with prize of equal or greater value, if advertised prize becomes unavailable.

- An award for company display
- National and local publicity
- Exposure on the Principal Financial Group Web site, www.principal.com
- Inclusion in a nationally distributed best practices guide
- Use of “The Principal® Ten Best Companies for Employee Financial Security” recognition in external and internal marketing materials
- General Conditions: Employees, officers, directors and members (and their immediate families and those living in their same households) of the companies of the Principal Financial Group® and their advertising and promotion agencies are not eligible. Winners will be notified and may be asked to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility. If prize notification or prize is returned as non-deliverable,
prize will be forfeited. Neither sponsor nor its agencies are responsible for illegible, lost, late,
damaged, incomplete, postage-due or misdirected mail or entries. Persons who tamper with or
abuse any aspect of contest, as solely determined by judges, will be disqualified, and sponsor
reserves the right to terminate such entrant’s eligibility. Should any portion of recognition program
be, in sponsor’s sole opinion, compromised by non authorized human intervention or other causes
which, in the sole opinion of sponsor, corrupt, or impair the administration, security, fairness or
proper play, or submission of entries, sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend or
terminate the recognition program, and ask judges to select another winner from entries received
prior to action taken.
- Entrants, by entering, and winners, by acceptance of prize agree that the companies of the Principal Financial Group® their advertising and promotion agencies, and their respective owners, managers, officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by entrants, winners and their heirs, administrators, personal representatives, successors and assigns against, any liability, debt, obligation, action, cause of action, cost or expense for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of the prize or participation in this contest or in any contest-related activity. Taxes on prizes, if any, are solely the responsibility of the winners.
- Eligibility is open to individuals who have had Internet accounts/access prior to the start of the contest and by mail.
- Prize winners: For notification of the prize winners’ names, mail a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Catherine Utterson, The Principal 10 Best Companies for Employee Financial Security, Winner’s List, 711 High Street, Des Moines, IA 50392. Only one request for Winners List per outer envelope mailed separately.
- Entrants acknowledge that the non-identifiable information collected from the entry forms may be used by the Principal Financial Group® for publicity purposes in the event that the company is chosen as one of the winners.
- Any and all disputes pertaining to this contest must be resolved under Iowa law.
