Community Involvement
Investing in the Arts
Ongoing—We began a vision nearly two years ago. The Wisconsin Business Center pledged to raise awareness of financial planning options in future clients, branding our name with business owners and future business owners. "Investing in the Arts" is a way to touch young lives where their passions are. We aim to plant recognition at an early age, because these students will be the company's market in 15-20 years. Through this program, we feature students' accomplishments and simultaneously become more visible in local schools.
Each month a new school displays students' artwork. Their art teacher references The Principal® in the school newsletter, inviting parents to visit and view the artwork in our offices. The Principal builds students' pride and brands its name with gift certificates provided by the Wisconsin Business Center partnering with a local retailer, Artist & Display. A highlight luncheon celebration provides teachers the opportunity to get on next year's calendar, meet WBC staff and network with other local art teachers.
Wisconsin Business Center Food Drive
Ongoing—The Wisconsin Business Center is proud to support our community food pantries through America's Second Harvest of Wisconsin. Second Harvest is a nationwide organization helping the fight to end hunger. It has been reported that of the 235,000 people in Wisconsin who needed the help of food pantries, 87,000 were children. Nationwide, 35 million people, including 13 million children go hungry every day.
Our April 14-May 14 food drive was a huge success. It is rewarding knowing our group efforts help to restock the shelves of pantries throughout our community to assure our children don't go to school hungry. We look forward to our next drive Oct 19 thought Nov 14!
