Julie's Story On Extracurricular Activities
My first exposure to The Principal was during an internship working on data modeling and database administration projects. After graduating from college, I began supporting the building block architecture code for our transaction processing systems. I've designed, developed and supported databases within two separate business areas and have gone on to leading a database support team that assists project teams with database design, development and support.
After several years of trying new roles across business segments and participating in several company activities, I've realized some of my greatest gains have come from the "extras" my running partners, my participation in IT recruiting efforts and helping with the annual United Way campaigns. The multitude of job opportunities, combined with the "extracurricular" activities, is what keeps things interesting. But, the culture is what really makes this place tick.
