Environmental impact

We know that to truly foster a more secure world, we must be mindful of our impact on it. That's why we insist on environmentally responsible behaviors by our company, our employees, and our business partners.

Graphic stating that by 2050 we aspire to achieve net-zero carbon emissions.

Our commitment

Ensuring responsible environmental management actions, sustainable procurement programs, and good governance fueled by a culture of ethics and the responsible management of business and climate-related risks.

Our goal

We aim to reduce our global scope 1 and market-based scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 65% by 2034 and achieve net-zero GHG emissions by 2050, which aligns with the Science Based Targets initiative’s (SBTi) 1.5° C scenario.

Our commitment contributes directly to the following UN Sustainable Development Goals:

Goal 13: Climate action

What does this look like?

By 2034

A 65% reduction in emissions would equal 23,739 metric tons CO2e, or:*

5,283 gasoline-powered passenger vehicles driven for one year.

2,992 homes’ energy use for a year.

Carbon sequestered by 28,310 acres of US forests in one year.

*Due to office closures in 2020, we decided to use 2019 emissions as our baseline for these goals.

By 2050

A 100% reduction in emissions would equal 36,522 metric tons CO2e, or:

8,127 gasoline-powered passenger vehicles driven for one year.

4,603 homes’ energy use for a year.

Carbon sequestered by 43,553 acres of US forests in one year.
