Important reminder about policy packet delivery

We’ve updated our mail processing, which has changed the overnight delivery timing of issued life insurance policy packets. Keep the following updated timelines in mind when communicating expected delivery dates to customers.

Delivery time changes

•    Policies issued before 11 a.m. CT are delivered one business day later than the previous overnight schedule.
•    Policies issued at or after 11 a.m. CT are delivered two business days later than the previous overnight schedule.

Examples:

•    Policy issued before 11 a.m. CT on Monday → Packet delivered Wednesday.
•    Policy issued at or after 11 a.m. CT on Monday → Packet delivered Thursday.

We appreciate your patience as these changes are implemented. We also want to let you know we’ll continue to expand eDelivery—as an alternative to physical contract mailing for additional products and term conversions. Further updates to come.

Complete Anti-Money Laundering training to help avoid application processing delays

As a reminder, at least every two years, any financial professional who sells or services Principal® fixed cash value life insurance policies or individual annuity contracts (collectively, “covered products”) must complete training to comply with the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) program. (Note: Principal Securities, Inc. Registered Representatives do not need to take this training in addition to the training required by the broker-dealer.)

Completing the training ensures you comply with industry-wide regulations designed to help detect and prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. If a financial professional’s training isn’t current (i.e., has not been completed within the past 24 months), issuance of any new business submitted for covered products may be delayed until the training is completed.

Online AML refresher courses are available through LIMRA at no cost to financial professionals and can be accessed as follows:

  • Navigate to knowledge.limra.com (use Google Chrome or Internet Explorer for the best experience) and log on:
    • Username is the National Producer Number (NPN), which can be found at http://nipr.com.

    • Password:
      • New users – Last name (*all lower case*).
      • Existing users – Enter existing password or select “Forgot Password” on the login page.

  • The latest refresher course is “LIMRA Anti-Money Laundering for Insurance Review – Evolving Scam Threats (2026).” Courses take approximately 30-40 minutes to complete and are updated annually.

  • For first-time users of LIMRA’s AML materials, a one-time basic training course is required prior to taking the refresher course.

  • For technical assistance, call 866.364.2380 or email support@cfmpartners.com.

It’s not necessary to notify Principal of course completion. We can access up-to-date information through LIMRA as needed.

Note: Principal Securities, Inc. Registered Representatives do not need to take this training in addition to the training required by the broker-dealer. AML programs required for SEC-registered broker-dealers already address the training requirement for variable annuity contracts and variable life insurance policies. Other products, including individual term life, group life, individual or group disability insurance, and group annuity contracts, are not considered covered products and aren’t included.

Verify detail codes before you submit

When submitting applications, one of the most important steps is ensuring the correct detail code is provided for both the submitting office and financial professional on the Financial Professional Report/Producer Report.

Accurate detail codes help ensure applications are processed efficiently, that the appropriate individuals receive access to policy information, and that compensation is paid correctly.

Before submitting the business, verify that a detailed code is provided and that it’s the correct code for the business.

New "view-only" feature available on Business Plan Service Center

The Business Plan Service Center (BPSC) supports business clients by providing online access to their life and/or individual disability insurance (IDI) plans with Principal. Beginning the week of August 17, a new “view only” feature will enable you to see what your clients see for their plans on the BPSC dashboard. That front-line view can help you guide your clients’ plan experience and address their questions.

Access for you: The BPSC dashboard is available from our financial professional site, under the “My Customers” panel. Note that Initial access to the following information will be available only to the financial professional, then expanded to their support team later this year:

•    Life plans: Billing status, plan census, and key documents mailed to clients.
•    IDI plans: Billing status and plan census. Watch for additional features in the future.

Access for your clients: Encourage them to access their plan information by completing the Key Decision Maker form and submitting it to their Principal contact.

For questions regarding BPSC access, contact the Advisor Web Support Team at 800-554-3395.
