Maryland PFML Quoting Opens July 1, 2026

Principal® will begin quoting Maryland PFML private plans starting July 1, 2026, providing early access to evaluate options ahead of program rollout. 

Key timing to be aware of:

  • Contributions begin: January 1, 2027
  • Benefits begin: January 1, 2028 

Employers may have the option to opt out of the state program and choose a private plan through Principal.
