Principal Term reprice - South Dakota approval

Effective May 15, 2026, new rates apply to new-issue policies for Principal® Term (10-, 15-, 20-, and 30-Year) in South Dakota. New rates are now approved in all states.

Things to know about the May reprice:

  • A new band of rates is available at $3 million and above to improve competitiveness at higher face amounts.
  • This reprice includes updates to Base Nonconvertible, Base Convertible, and Conversion Extension Rider rates.
  • The new version displays in the illustration system as Term 2023 (05/2026) for both New York (issued by PLIC) and non-New York (issued by PNL) products.
